New Haven, Yale Center for British Art, June 17 - 21, 2013Deadline: Mar 4, 2013Graduate student seminar: Coloring ColorIn June 2013, the Yale Center for British Art will offer a week-longgraduate student seminar, open to doctoral candidates interested incolor and its historical development, manufacture, and use in a rangeof art works in the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries.The seminar is organized by the YCBA's Conservation Department, andconcentrates on the physical materials of color, as well as historicand scientific perspectives.
The seminar dates are June 17-21, 2013. Applications are welcomed fromcurrent PhD students anywhere in the world, whose doctoral researchfocuses on issues relating to painterly practice and the materiality ofpaintings and works on paper. Participants will be provided witheconomy airfare, ground transportation, meals, and accommodation atYale.
